 WPP GROUP APPOINTS NEW NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
 LONDON, Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of WPP Group


plc (ADS's - NASDAQ: WPPGY), the multinational marketing services company, today announced the appointment of Stanley (Bud) Morten as a non-executive director.
 Bud Morten, 48, is director of the equity services division of Wertheim Schroder, the investment bank based in New York, and his overall responsibility includes investment research, institutional sales and international.
 Raised in Chicago, Morten is an economics graduate, and has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He became a chartered financial analyst in 1977.
 Early in his career at Wertheim Schroder he became a leading analyst covering companies across a variety of industries, including retail, consumer durables and publishing. He became director of research in 1982, a general partner of the firm in 1983, and joined the executive committee in 1988.
