WORTHINGTON FOODS RECEIVES APPROVAL TO EXPAND TO ADDITIONAL BURGER KING RESTAURANTS

WORTHINGTON, Ohio, July 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Worthington Foods, Inc. (NASDAQ: WFDS) today announced that Burger King Corporation is expanding the testing of their meatless hamburger called Grillers(R) to three additional restaurants beginning in early August. This expansion is based on the success experienced to date in Burger King's original test unit in Watkins Glen, N.Y. Grillers(R) were added to the menu at this restaurant in late April 1993. The new test sites are in Rochester, Corning and Painted Post, N.Y.
Worthington Foods sells the Grillers(R) product under its Morningstar Farms label in supermarkets nationally with annual sales of approximately 20 million. Worthington Foods has authorized Burger King to use the product name "Grillers," a registered trademark of Worthington, in the test markets. Grillers(R) are a favorite product of the 12 million vegetarians nationwide and others looking for meatless, cholesterol-free foods.
Worthington Foods, Inc., located in Worthington, Ohio, is the world's largest company solely dedicated to producing and marketing meatless and other healthful food products.
