WORLD TODAY: New area examined.

POLICE searching a former care home in Jersey where it is claimed children were raped and flogged in underground chambers were expecting to break into a second cellar this week.

In a search led by Jersey's deputy chief officer Lenny Harper, pictured, fragments of bone, and blood spots have been found in one of what police believe are four secret rooms at Haut de la Garenne.

More than 160 people have come forward to say they were abused in the rooms.

Investigators were reported to be expecting to make three arrests within a fortnight.
