WORLD OIL VETERAN RUSSELL WRIGHT JOINS HART PUBLICATIONS, INC., AS EDITORIAL DIRECTOR

 POTOMAC, Md., May 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Russell Wright has joined Denver-based Hart Publications, Inc., in the newly created position of editorial director. Wright has been with Gulf Publishing for 20 years, serving as editor of World Oil magazine for the last seven years. In his new position, he will oversee Hart's growing base of regional, national and international energy magazines and newsletters. He will be based in the company's Houston office.
 "The rapid growth of Hart Publications and the exceptional editorial quality of its publications are what first drew me to the company. I saw an opportunity to help Hart grow even more and to put my editorial and technical background to use for them," said Wright.
 At Hart, Wright will be responsible for nine magazines and one newsletter. His duties will include managing Hart's editorial resources and launching new products. In addition, he will focus on making two of Hart's publications, Petroleum Engineer International magazine and Petro Systems World, the undisputed leaders in the industry's technology marketplace.
 "Russell brings with him 20 years of editorial experience and strong ties to the oil and gas industry. His talent will be a tremendous asset to our top-notch editorial team," said Jim deGraffenreid, president of Hart Publications, Inc.
 Wright is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and a Registered Professional engineer in Texas. He is currently secretary of the Houston NOMADS chapter. He speaks frequently to the Houston chapters of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, American Petroleum Institute, International Association of Drilling Contractors and NOMADS. Prior to Gulf Publishing, Wright worked as a petroleum engineer for Amoco Production Co. in New Orleans and Lafayette, La. He holds a petroleum engineering degree from Texas A&M University.
