WOLOHAN LUMBER CO. REPORTS AUGUST SALES INCREASED 12.6 PERCENT

 SAGINAW, Mich., Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Wolohan Lumber Co. (NASDAQ-NMS: WLHN) said its sales for August increased to $37,487,000 from $33,279,000 for August 1992, a 12.6-percent increase. Comparable- store sales increased 10.7 percent. For the month of August, consumer (DIY) sales were up 11.2 percent and professional contractor sales were up 14.3 percent from last August.
 Eight-month sales were up 3.9 percent to $242,326,000 from $233,161,000 for the same period of 1992 and comparable-store sales were up 1.7 percent.
 Wolohan Lumber Co. is a publicly held company operating 53 lumber and building material retail stores in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin.
