WINSPECPRO SELECTS FREESPEECH 2000 SPEECH RECOGNITON SOLUTION.

FreeSpeech 2000, the natural language speech recognition technology from Philips Speech Processing, has been selected as the speech recognition solution for WinSpecPro, the new technology portal.

Drawing from the power of Philips' High Speed and High Accuracy (HSA) technology, FreeSpeech 2000 constantly learns and adapts to the way users speak in normal conversation, and converts speech to text. The software enables the user to dictate text in six different languages, edit text and numbers, surf the Internet by voice, and issue natural command and control over all aspects of their Windows environment.

"Speech recognition is helping businesses increase productivity and partnering with WinSpecPro's unique channel to business professionals is an ideal cooperative effort," said David Ames, vice president of Philips Speech Processing. "To be chosen as the sole speech recognition product for this innovative portal is a testament to the success of FreeSpeech 2000."

"We are pleased that Philips Speech Processing has agreed to market and sell FreeSpeech 2000 through WinSpecPro," said Sanjeet Saxena, WinSpec's vice president of corporate development. "Philips Speech Processing is an innovator in their technology sphere and we believe that this partnership will be highly successful and mutually beneficial."

WinSpecPro is designed as the first new technology portal on the Internet. WinSpecPro recognized the need for a site where the professional solutions providers can go to find, demo and purchase the latest technology in a host of technology categories. Since every product on WinSpecPro is unique in its functionality, with no competitive products, WinSpecPro's partner companies enjoy exclusive positioning on the site.

Saxena continued, "WinSpecPro.com is a true global business to business enterprise. Our partner companies range from major international players to small, incredibly creative start-ups from all over the world. What's exciting is that many of them have not been exposed to geographical regions outside their initial focus markets. And, as the word of WinSpecPro spreads we are getting calls from new and established companies interested in marketing new technology."

The partner companies were brought to WinSpecPro in two ways. First, WinSpecPro's principals have extensive background in technology distribution and financing. Second, WinSpecPro actively seeks out new technologies though its own world wide web of contacts at incubator projects, universities, trade boards, investment firms, trade shows and conferences. This gives WinSpecPro the on-going ability to present the latest technology for the professional solutions provider.

"What our partner companies also appreciate is our attention to branding," says Joseph Slakas, director of affinity marketing. "We recognize that companies invest significant resources to build brand equity. We display their investment through detailed graphic and text descriptions of the products. Most sites with multiple corporate partners use thumbnails and don't make the effort that we do at WinSpecPro."

Another feature of the site is that there is no cost to organizations going on the site. As Saxena explained, "We make money the old fashioned way. It's all about targeted sales, sales, sales. As e-commerce is a process, not just the entry of a credit card number, we are not relying solely on the Internet. We are engaging top tier manufacturer's representative associations worldwide to put these cutting edge products directly in front of VARs, system integrators and end-users."
