WINNEBAGO ANNOUNCES NEW FUEL-EFFICIENT, FRONT-WHEEL-DRIVE MOTOR HOME TO BE AVAILABLE THIS SPRING

 FOREST CITY, Iowa, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Winnebago Industries, Inc., announced today plans to produce and distribute an all new fuel- efficient, front-wheel-drive motor home called the Riatta. The Riatta utilizes a cab and drivetrain components from Volkswagen AG in Germany, exclusively provided under contract with Volkswagen United States, Inc. This motor home program is in addition to a previously annouced camper conversion project with Volkswagen United States, Inc.
 "This new model further expands our market coverage and should add incremental volume and market share growth," said Fred G. Dohrmann, Winnebago Industries president and chief operating officer. "Market research indicates we have a winning combination with the Riatta -- a unique streamlined design and a quality fuel-efficient chassis from a world-class automobile maker."
 The new motor home features Winnebago uni-body construction and provides many new and enhanced features designed specifically for the multi-purpose vehicle. At just under 21 feet in length, the Riatta has generous headroom of 6'2''. Several planned features include a three-way refrigerator, sink, two-burner stove-top, microwave, expanding bathroom and storage cabinets. The Riatta will also be available with a roof air conditioner, generator, television, deluxe cab seating and sleeping for four.
 Winnebago Industries will introduce the Riatta in various automotive and recreation vehicle (R.V.) trade shows in the United States starting in January, with full production scheduled during the spring of 1994. The Riatta will be sold as a 1995 model within the United States through a Winnebago Industries' dealer network of qualifying automotive and R.V. dealers.
