WINE SELLER; Four of the best from supermarket shelves.
Tesco Finest Chilean Chardonnay pounds 3.99,- Tesco
From the Casablanca valley, a crisp, dry Chardonnay with emphasis on peach and fig fruit flavours leading to a long fine finish. Serve chilled as a great aperitif or with fish and seafood.
Petit Chablis, Bertrand Capdevigne pounds 6.99 - Morrisons
This wine is made exclusively from the Chardonnay grape grown in the outskirts of the Chablis region. Fresh and supple on the palate with mineral tones and fruity citrus flavours. Perfect with seafood, fish dishes and soft cheese.
Argentinian Malbec-Mendoza pounds 3.98 - Asda
From a disappointing range of wines available at Asda, this red wine stands out as a good example of South American Malbec. Medium bodied in style, it is fantastic with chilli con carne.
Cotes du Rhone Terres de Galets pounds 3.99 - Sainsbury's
Named after 'galets', the big round stones that are found in southern Rhone vineyards, this wine displays the warm, ripe, spicy character of this classic French region. Wonderful as an accompaniment to grilled, barbecued meats or a cheese platter. Also a nice partner to Provencal and Mediterranean food.
