WINE GLASSES WITH CHARM.
Pier 1 Imports offers them in plastic, a box of four for $5. And a recent Ross-Simons catalog had a couple of wine-charm giveaways: choose a set of four crystal stems (select patterns from Gorham, Lenox and Mikasa) and receive four free metal wine charms, or get six free charms with sets of eight Waterford Marquis tasting stems. It also had a set of its own beach-themed charms featuring glass beads and silverplate charms.
Meadowsweet Kitchens, a creative kitchen stationery company, not only has a new line of beverage markers called Charmed, I'm Sure, it is also offering a place to keep them. Its new Wine Charm Holders come in matte gold, matte black and stainless-steel finishes, and are designed to hold a bottle of wine along with six wine markers on decorative hooks.
Boston Warehouse is the granddaddy of the wine charm business, having long offered a wide assortment of beverage markers. It has just come out with 23 new designs, ranging from Haunted Halloween to Hanukkah motifs to casino-themed charms.
Even Waterford has gotten into the act, through its licensing partner Reed & Barton. A set of silverplated charms in the Waterford seahorse logo were shown during the recent Tabletop Show, a set of four for $20.
