Eagerly awaiting the opening are new recruits Rachel Williams and her son James Warman.

Rachel, 45, from Mancot, is joining as a selling assistant in the beds, linens and bathroom accessories department. Keeping it in the family, her son, James, also from Mancot, will be working in the electrical department as a selling assistant.

Rachel is thrilled to be a part of the 200-strong new team. "I was over the moon when I found out I'd got the job," she said. "To work for such a reputable and well-known company as John Lewis is a brilliant opportunity and I can't wait until opening day and to start meeting and serving customers."
