WIN A CHANCE TO TRAIN WITH LIBBY AND DAN.
AS THE official water supplier to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, Strathmore are offering 40 readers the once-in-a-lifetime chance to attend one of two masterclasses hosted by Team Scotland hopefuls Libby Clegg or Dan Keatings.
The world-class athletes will host a masterclass in their own sport for 40 lucky winners who can also bring a guest. Libby will host her masterclass in Edinburgh on June 8 and Dan's masterclass is in Glasgow on June 15. Each masterclass will last three to four hours.
Libby Clegg from Edinburgh is a Paralympic sprinter. She suffers from Stargardt's Muscular Dystrophy, a deteriorating eye condition. Despite this she has a Paralympic Games silver medal and World and European Championships gold medals to her name. At her masterclass in Edinburgh, Libby will spend time with winners on the track helping improve their running techniques, as well as introducing the sport to first timers. The inspirational event will be filled with Libby's motivational tips and support to help the winners Do More.
Dan Keatings has won eight British All Around titles, and took gold for the pommel at the 2010 European Championships and 2008 Gymnastics World Cup. In Glasgow, Dan will coach the winners through the different gymnastics activities that he competes in. From the pommel and the rings to basic gymnastics techniques for beginners, he will explain the best way to approach the exercises and what inspires him to Do More in his strive to be the best.
At both events, winners will also be given a session on healthy hydration and nutrition and taken through the all-important warm up and cool down stages specific to their sport. There will also be a chance to ask Dan and Libby questions on their journey to qualify for the Games and they will sign autographs.
