WILMINGTON TRUST OFFERS FARMERS HOME ADMINISTRATION MORTGAGES

WILMINGTON, Del., Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Wilmington Trust Company announced that it has been named an approved lender in Delaware for residential mortgages guaranteed by the Farmers Home Administration (FmHA).
Under the program, individuals and families with low or moderate incomes may qualify for 100 percent financing to purchase or build a house in a rural area, which is a defined population center of 10,000 people or less. All of Sussex, most of Kent and a portion of New Castle Counties are eligible for these loans.
This program is designed to help people who lack the down payment normally required by most conventional mortgage loans. Mortgages originated by Wilmington Trust and guaranteed by the FmHA do not require a down payment and are at fixed interest rates for terms of 30 years. The FmHA establishes the maximum interest rate and points that Wilmington Trust can charge on these loans and sets total household income limits and repayment qualifications for applicants. In addition, the FmHA has established maximum loan amounts for applicants in each county. These currently are $91,200 for Sussex County, $87,850 for Kent County and $118,300 for New Castle County.
Leonard W. Quill, Wilmington Trust's chairman stated, "We are delighted to participate in this program. We look forward to working with the Farmers Home Administration to help Delaware's low and moderate income families in rural areas obtain affordable housing."
Wilmington Trust is accepting applications for FmHA-guaranteed loans in mortgage origination offices in Georgetown (302-856-4407), Dover (302-735-2070), Newark (302-651-1618) and Wilmington (302-651-8848).
Wilmington Trust Company, principal subsidiary of Wilmington Trust Corporation (NASDAQ: WILM), currently has 60 branches in Delaware, one branch in West Chester, Pa., and two trust offices in Florida. With $4.1 billion in assets, Wilmington Trust Company is the largest, full-service, independent bank chartered in Delaware.
