 WILLIAM P. MADAR ELECTED TO LUBRIZOL BOARD
 CLEVELAND, April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- William P. Madar, president


and chief executive officer of Nordson Corporation, was elected to the board of directors of The Lubrizol Corporation (NYSE: LZ) by shareholders at the annual meeting held today.
 Madar has been associated with Nordson since 1986. Prior to joining Nordson, Madar served in various positions with The Standard Oil Company (now BP America) for 20 years.
 Madar is a director of National City Bank, Brush Wellman Inc. and The Van Dorn Company. He is also a Trustee of the Cleveland Commission on Higher Education, INROADS/Northeast Ohio, the Greater Cleveland Growth Association, Greater Cleveland Roundtable, the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, the Playhouse Square Foundation and Hawken School. In addition, Madar is on the Advisory Council of the Graduate School of Business of Stanford University. He holds a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.
 Shareholders also reelected as directors Andre Gillet, retired chairman and chief executive officer of International Multifoods Corporation; Richard A. Miller, retired chairman and chief executive officer of Centerior Energy Corporation; and Karl E. Ware, chairman and chief executive officer of Ware Industries, Inc.
 The Lubrizol Corporation is a full service supplier of specialty chemicals to customers worldwide. The company applies chemical, mechanical and biological technologies to create high performance products used in diverse markets.
