 LAS VEGAS, Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- William D. Foote has been named president of Lake Las Vegas, the $3.8 billion, 2,245-acre master-planned residential/resort community under development in Henderson, Nev.
 Foote was president and managing partner of Southwest Diversified Partners, a real estate and development company of master-planned communities throughout the United States. Among his projects are Marin Lagoon in Marin County, Calif., Northeast Ridge in San Mateo County, Calif., La Vina in Altadena, Calif., Signal Hill in Los Angeles County, Hidden Valley in San Diego, and North Ranch in Tucson, Ariz. He has also developed master-planned communities in Los Angeles and San Diego, Baltimore, Orlando, and Reno, Nev.
 His former company, Southwest Diversified Partners is a partnership between Foote's company, Southwest Diversified Inc., and Coscan Development Corp., one of Canada's preeminent development companies which is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Foote's company had previously been in partnership with First City Financial Corp. Ltd. of Toronto.

 Located 17 miles east of the Las Vegas Strip, Lake Las Vegas surrounds a 320-acre lake with more than 10 miles of shoreline. The project is planned to include six hotel/casinos, five golf courses, a state-of-the-art aquarium with adjoining entertainment centers, a shopping center, a marina, a tennis center and up to 5,000 residential units. Custom home sites are currently being offered at SouthShore, Lake Las Vegas' premier residential community featuring Jack Nicklaus' first signature golf course in Nevada.

 Prior to forming Southwest Diversified Inc., Foote served as president and managing partner of Cadillac Fairview Homes West, the largest publicly held development company in North America, from its formation in 1977 until its sale in 1983. He also has held executive positions with Kaiser Aetna, Kaufman & Broad Multi-Family Inc. and U.S. Financial Inc.
 Foote has an economics degree from the University of Southern California. He serves as chairman of the executive committee of the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate Development, one of the premier centers of its kind, and is also on the board of councilors for the School of Urban and Regional Planning.
 In addition to serving on many educational and charitable boards, Foote is on the board of the internationally based Pacific Rim Council on Urban Development.
