WILLIAM C. CLARK NAMED PRESIDENT AND CEO
 FOR ALLEGHENY COMMUTER AIRLINES
HARRISBURG, Pa., Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- William C. Clark has been named the president and CEO of Allegheny Commuter Airlines of Reading, Pa., effective today. Clark is currently chairman, president and CEO of Pennsylvania Airlines of Harrisburg. Clark will oversee the day-to-day operations of both USAir Express carriers prior to their planned merger in May of this year. He will then head up the new, merged company which will retain the name of Allegheny Commuter Airlines.
Both carriers operate USAir Express service to a number of communities throughout the northeastern United States and are wholly owned subsidiaries of USAir Group, Inc. (NYSE: U). In November 1991, USAir announced plans to merge the carriers to provide greater scheduling and operational efficiencies. The merged operation will continue to serve those communities which are now served by either or both carriers.
No decision has yet been made on the location of the merged carrier's headquarters. This is expected to be announced within the next few weeks.
Clark is a 1966 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. In 1991, he received the prestigious Alumni Fellow's Award given by the Penn State Alumni Association and administered in cooperation with the academic units and the Penn State Board of Trustees.
He joined Pennsylvania Airlines in 1965 and served in various management and operational capacities throughout the company's start up and growth over the past 26 years. Clark was named a senior vice president in 1978 and later named chairman, president and chief executive officer in 1986.
He served with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard's 728th Aviation Battalion in a reserve capacity from 1966-1972. A past director of the Regional Airline Association, he is a member of many aviation-related organizations and been active in community service throughout his career.
