WICHITA WOMAN WINS 'JEEP' VEHICLE IN SEARS GDO CONTEST

WICHITA, Kan., Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- When Wichita's Linda Evans walked into Sears Towne East store last fall, she paused to look at the garage door opener display and entered the Sears "Open any door Sweepstakes."
Today, Sears and Jeep/Eagle officials presented her the keys to the Sweepstake's Grand Prize -- a 1993 Jeep Cherokee valued at $15,000.
Cliff Hagy, Sears Wichita East store manager, and Tom Lovegrove, Sears national buyer of garage door openers and accessories, made the presentation to Mrs. Evans.
"Sears is our favorite place to shop because my husband Bruce, who works at Cessna, buys all his tools for his job at Sears."
Mrs. Evans said that now that she has the new Jeep, she needs a garage. Then, she says she will be back to Sears to look at garage door openers again! First though, her husband is going to practice by installing a new Sears garage door opener at her sister's home.
"During the past holiday season shoppers purchased more Sears garage door openers and accessories than ever before, making their garages more convenient and secure," said Lovegrove.
In addition to the Jeep Cherokee, the Sears Open any door Sweepstakes included the awarding of 10 $1,000 Sears gift certificates, 10 Motorola cellular phones, and 100 Sears garage door opener accessories.
