WHO opens access to database of adverse reactions to drugs.

World Health Organization opened a database on adverse reactions to drugs for Kyrgyzstan on April 17, representative of the Ministry of Health Bermet Baryktabasova said.

The WHO has also announced the opening of access to the database on the safety of international medicines.

Pharmacovigilance, or safety of drugs, is the main method to determine or identify the risks associated with the use of the drug and to minimize any harm that may be caused to the patient.

Pharmacovigilance is based on the timely exchange of information and transparency, so that unexpected and unintended effects associated directly with the use of drugs, as well as errors in the use of drugs such as overdose, misuse of drugs or abuse of drugs can be quickly resolved.
