WHITE QUIET ON TALK OF RUAN MOVE.
Byline: JOHN FALLON
MONTPELLIER coach Jake White is staying tight-lipped on rumours Ruan Pienaar will become the latest South African to be lured to the Altrad Stadium.
Pienaar is reported to have agreed a three-year deal with the reigning European Challenge Cup winners after his hopes of a contract extension with Ulster were jettisoned by the IRFU succession plan.
White, who coached Pienaar (above) to a World Cup winner's medal in 2007, has over a dozen South Africans in his ranks including Pierre Spies, Bismarck and Jannie du Plessis and Francois Steyn.
But he declined to comment on the acquisition of Pienaar following their weekend 41-13 win over Simon Mannix's Pau.
"No, it's not something I can talk about, nothing on that," said White.
But talk of Pienaar's move to Montpellier has not gone down well with current incumbent Benoit Paillaugue who has been with the club since 2009 and is contracted to 2018.
The scrum-half said: "I do not know how it will evolve. I'm disappointed. I thought I had a little more confidence but hey that's part of the sport. I may not be enough 'bling-bling' for the club because I am not an international."
