WHITE ELECTRONIC GETS MULTIPLE "SECURE ELECTONICS" CONTRACTS.

White Electronic Designs Corporation (NASDAQ: WEDC), Phoenix, has received multiple contracts resulting in initial development awards for products utilizing its newly developed tamper resistant (TR) technology.

The programs involve the design and manufacture of Multi-Chip Packages (MCP's) used for secure guidance and communication technology.

White's chairman and CEO, Hamid Shokrgozar noted, "We continue to see increasing demand for secure microelectronics in the military market. As previously stated, we have been continuously investing in the Tamper Resistant Technology Process, and have positioned ourselves as a leader in this technology. Our organization has implemented a dedicated manufacturing area where we utilize "state of the art" equipment and proprietary processes, which allow us to achieve new standards in the advancement of this technology."

Shokrgozar went on to say, "We expect that our main markets, in the defense sector, will continue to grow over the next ten years. The Presidents proposed 2003 defense budget is a 15% increase over the current year and a 28% increase over the previous year. The 2003 defense budget of $379 billion would be the largest increase in two decades. A large portion of these funds are targeted for secure electronic applications. There continues to be a Department of Defense directive to use TR coatings in platforms that utilize Global Positioning Systems (GPS). These systems are used in numerous applications ranging from high-tech equipment for ground troops to precision-guided munitions. We anticipate the market demand for this GPS technology over the next 10 years to be quite strong. As the role of the US military continues to evolve in the future, the need for more sophisticated communication platforms and accurate delivery systems becomes extremely important. The sector that our TR technology targets, are used in these applications. In addition, there is a Federal Information Processing Standard for the Security Requirement for Cryptographic Modules. We believe that such modules will be used in a variety of applications including secure financial transactions such as ATM's and to secure data exchange over the Internet. We believe that both market segments have enormous potential for this technology, and that we have positioned ourselves extremely well to act in a leading role."

White Electronic Designs Corporation supplies the wired and wireless communications industry with niche semiconductor products that support network systems, switches, base stations, and other hardware platforms. The company designs and manufactures innovative solutions for three high-technology sectors in military and commercial markets; high-density memory products and multi-chip modules for data communications and telecommunications providers; ruggedized high-legibility flat panel display for commercial/military aircraft and ordnance delivery systems; interface storage and retrieval devices, and electromechanical assemblies for OEM's in commercial and military markets.
