WHITBREAD ANNOUNCES FUTURE FOR PIZZA HUT FRANCE
London, June 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Whitbread PLC has announced that it

is looking for a new franchise owner for its 17 Pizza Hut outlets in France. These are located in and around Paris including the L'Opera site which is the largest Pizza Hut in Europe. All restaurants are in prime positions in high street and freestanding locations.
David Thomas, main board director for Whitbread PLC said: "This opportunity has arisen as a result of our decision to explore alternative ownership for the Pizza Hut franchise in mainland Europe. We believe that the restaurants available in France could provide potential purchasers with valuable sites which have already achieved much success since their inception in 1989."
Whitbread PLC and Pizza Hut International, a division of PepsiCo Inc, are fully committed to their joint venture which dominates the UK pizza market and continues to expand its estate with a total of 282 restaurants and delivery units.
