WHERE THE MATURE TRAVELERS GO: HILTON SENIOR HHONORS RESEARCH REVEALS TOP 10 MATURE MARKET DESTINATIONS

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Casino gaming is in the cards for mature travelers this season, along with warm weather getaways and trips to major cultural centers, according to research conducted by Hilton Hotels Corp. (NYSE: HLT)
Based on an analysis of more than 200,000 reservations over a 20-month period in the Senior HHonors membership program for mature travelers, Hilton developed a list of the top 10 mature market destinations. The most popular mature market destinations, ranked in order of reservations volume for the Jan. 1-April 30, 1992 period, are as follows:
Nevada casinos (Las Vegas, Reno, Laughlin)
 Los Angeles
 New York City
 Hawaii
 Chicago
 Washington, D.C.
 New Orleans
 Orlando, Fla.
 San Francisco
 Phoenix
"Mature travelers are an adventurous lot," said Joanie Flynn, Hilton's director of leisure marketing. "As our list suggests, their travel preferences vary widely, span the entire country from coast to coast and, in general, reflect a desire for fun and excitement. Whether playing it up in a casino, relaxing on a tropical beach or sampling big city delights, mature travelers want to see and experience as much as possible."
Senior HHonors is a membership program for consumers age 60 and over, offering discounts of up to 50 percent on rooms at participating Hilton and Conrad hotels worldwide and a 20 percent dinner discount at participating hotels in the United States. Travelers can purchase an annual membership for $50 or a lifetime membership for $265. For membership information, consumers can call 800-432-3600.
