WHEELING-PITTSBURGH STEEL CORPORATION ELECTS VICE PRESIDENT-OPERATIONS
 WHEELING, W.Va., Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The election of Tom Patrick as vice president-operations was announced today by Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation.
 The effective date of the appointment is Nov. 1, 1992. Patrick will have the responsibility for steel manufacturing operations of the corporation.
 Since February of 1990 Patrick has been serving as vice president and general manager-finishing operations. However, his new duties will include the direction of all operations of the corporation's primary operations at Steubenville, Ohio, as well as the finishing operations at the Allenport, Pa.; Martins Ferry, Ohio; Yorkville, Ohio; and Canfield, Ohio, locations.
 Patrick began his career with Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in 1983 as manager-rail mill at the corporation's Monessen, Pa., plant, following 20 years with United States Steel Corporation (now the U.S. Steel Division of USX). In 1984, he was promoted to plant manager at Monessen, then to vice president and general manager-Monessen profit center in January 1986. Following the sale of the coke and steelmaking facilities at Monessen in June 1988, Patrick was named general manager- Allenport plant in addition to his duties as vice president. In September 1989, he was named assistant to the president, with responsibility for special projects.
 Patrick, a native of McKeesport, Pa., is a graduate of Kansas State University where he earned a B.S. degree in business administration. He is a member of the American Iron and Steel Institute and the National Management Association.
 Patrick and his wife are the parents of two sons and live in Glassport, Pa.
