 WHEELING-PITTSBURGH STEEL ANNOUNCES PROMOTIONS
 WHEELING, W.Va., June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The promotions of Robert


A. Narrish to director-labor relations, James L. Sray to director- safety and security, and James R. Sullivan to director-benefits and workers' compensation, were announced today by Daniel C. Keaton, vice president, employee relations-labor, Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation (NYSE: WHX).
 The appointments are effective immediately.
 Narrish, 37, joined the company in June 1977, as a management trainee at the Steubenville, Ohio, plant. During the next two years he served as a production foreman, before accepting a position as personnel staff assistant in 1979. In succeeding years, Narrish served as labor relations supervisor, LMPT coordinator and superintendent-labor relations until he was named general superintendent-human resources at Steubenville. In July 1990, he was appointed manager-human resources on the corporate level. Ten months later, Narrish was promoted to manager-labor relations, Ohio Valley and Canfield, the position he held prior to his current appointment.
 Narrish is a 1977 graduate of Wheeling College with a B.S. degree in business administration. Narrish, his wife and two children are residents of Wheeling.
 Sray, 42, began his employment with Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in April of 1982 as the superintendent-labor relations at the Steubenville plant. He has held several positions within the human resources department of the corporation, including: general superintendent-human resources at both the Yorkville and Monessen, Pa., plants, between 1984 and 1987. In August 1987, Sray was named administrator-corporate human resources. He was then appointed administrator-corporate labor relations in April 1988, followed by appointment as director-employee relations in July 1990. Prior to this promotion, he was manager-labor relations, Mon Valley and Wheeling Corrugating Company.
 Sray graduated from Waynesburg College in 1971 with a B.S. degree in business administration, and in 1973 from West Virginia University (WVU) with an M.S. degree in industrial relations. He is a member of the National Management Association, Pittsburgh Personnel Association and American Society of Personnel Administrators. Sray is married and lives in Bridgeville, Pa., with his wife and two children.
 Sullivan, 41, joined Wheeling-Pittsburgh in August 1986, as manager-health care cost management. Prior to that he served in various health care positions with the West Virginia Department of Health, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of West Virginia, Inc. In October of 1990, he was appointed manager-benefits and workers' compensation, the position he held at the time of this promotion.
 Sullivan is a 1973 graduate of West Virginia University and holds a B.A. degree in social work. In 1978, he also earned an M.S. degree in community health from WVU. He is a member of the National Management Association, Pittsburgh Business Group on Health and International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists. Sullivan and his wife live in Moundsville, W.Va., and are the parents of one son.
