WHEELCHAIR BEACH-ADAPTIVE GEAR SOUGHT.

Byline: Scripps-McClatchy Western Service

Tuff Tours/The Enabled Traveler, a Sacramento agency specializing in travel arrangements for people with disabilities, will host a ``beach adaptation challenge'' and barbecue from noon to 4 p.m. June 22 at Paradise Beach in Sacramento's Glenn Hall Park.

Participants are invited to bring materials they think will make it easy for wheelchairs to roll on sand, yet not be offensive to the aesthetics of a natural beach environment. Inventions will be judged on appearance, affordability, packability and reliability.

Those who want to participate are asked to RSVP by June 12 by calling the tour company at (916) 364-1365.
