WHEELABRATOR EOS INC. AWARDED CONTRACT TO OPERATE DUANE R. EGELAND WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT IN TRENTON, MICHIGAN

 HAMPTON, N.H., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Wheelabrator, EOS Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Wheelabrator Technologies, Inc., (NYSE: WTI) today announced that it has been awarded full contract operations and maintenance for the Duane R. Egeland Wastewater Treatment Plant located in Trenton, Mich., by the South Huran Valley Utility Authority (SHVUA). The contract was awarded for approximately $2 million annually on Sept. 29, 1993, following a competitive procurement process by SHVUA.
 The multi-year contract with Wheelabrator EOS will guarantee the Authority and the County significant savings in the cost of operating the 12 million gallons per day (mgd) wastewater treatment facility. The contract responsibility, scheduled to commence in the first quarter, 1994, includes wastewater treatment operations, collection systems, pump stations and the monitoring of the Industrial Pretreatment Program.
