 HAMPTON, N.H., July 29 /PRNewswire/ -- M. Dale Sands has joined Wheelabrator Technologies Inc. (NYSE: WTI) as vice president and general manager of the company's Wheelabrator Clean Air Systems Inc., headquartered in Schaumberg, Ill. The Wheelabrator subsidiary provides complete systems for stack monitoring, proprietary engineered systems and equipment for control of odors, volatile organic compounds and hazardous air pollutants, and regenerative carbon systems and reactivation services. It serves a broad array of markets, including chemical and hydrocarbon processors, water treatment facilities, electric power utilities and manufacturing industries.
 Sands, who has nearly 20 years of leadership experience in the development, growth and operation of environmental companies, will lead this rapidly expanding group of companies. "Dale brings a unique combination of business management skills, technical understanding and client orientation to this important position in Wheelabrator," stated John M.  Sands previously served as president, ABB Environmental Services, Inc., and as worldwide business area manager for ABB's Industrial Environmental Services business units in Europe, Scandinavia and the Far East. Sands, who earned a B.S. in Chemistry from Central Michigan University, a M.S. in Environmental Sciences from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from California State University, has held senior management positions with CH2M Hill, Clayton Environmental and McKesson Corporation.
