WHAT I HATE ABOUT RACING.

The travelling is by far my biggest bugbear, particularly where evening racing is concerned. Having a runner at 9.15 on a Friday night at Wolverhampton means I don't get back to Newmarket until midnight, and when you've already got up early that morning it makes a long day for little money.

I don't mind long days if there's a big pot at the end of it - flying to Dubai wouldn't be any problem - but unfortunately we're not all that lucky. I also hate it when horses suffer injuries, whether major or minor, because you're emotionally invested in both them and the dreams and aspirations of their owners. Injuries can be a big downer, especially if you're aiming the horse at a big race.
