WET SEAL NABS TEEN STAR JOEY LAWRENCE TO KICK-OFF SIZZLIN' SUMMER CAMPAIGN

 IRVINE, Calif., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Women's apparel retailer The Wet Seal Inc. (NASDAQ: WTSLA) kicks off a summer merchandising strategy for its 128 stores on Thursday, June 10, that will feature Joey Lawrence, star of NBC-TV's "Blossom," whose debut music compact disc recently was released by Impact Records.
 The "Summer Sizzlers" program integrates a variety of components, including strategy-priced and tagged fashions; a sweepstakes for a trip to Hollywood to meet Lawrence; a cassette of his hit single, free with a purchase of $25 or more; in-store collateral and P-O-S; and Lawrence's two music videos and exclusive interview footage interspersed into an hour-long tape of top music videos for Wet Seal's trademark video walls. In addition, Lawrence will make a personal appearance at Wet Seal's South Coast Plaza store in July.
 The campaign marks the first marketing venture between Wet Seal, AEI Music Network and MCA/Impact Records. "It's a natural teaming because of our stores' video walls and the demographics we deliver," explained Kathy Bronstein, president of the retail chain.
 The Wet Seal Inc. is based in Irvine, has 128 stores throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii, Florida, Texas, Washington and Georgia. The retailer is the largest user of computerized video walls in the world.
