WESTON SHOWS MADE-IN-AMERICA ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY TO TAIWANESE MARKET

WEST CHESTER, Pa., Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Reflecting its role in the rapidly growing environmental consciousness throughout the Pacific Rim, Weston International, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Roy F. Weston, Inc. (NASDAQ: WSTNA) (WESTON)(R), an international environmental services company, will participate in the ENPROTECH 93 environmental protection technology exposition in Taipei, Taiwan, this month.
Weston International has expanded its professional presence throughout the Republic of China, completing eight major environmental remediation assignments there since 1989. The company's current projects include industrial waste facility planning and commercial incineration system design. In addition, Weston International has been selected for managing a low-level, radioactive waste project.
According to Philip M. Chen, P.E., president of Weston International, and Weston executive vice president, Taiwan has allocated more than $40 billion for pollution control over the next six years.
"Recognizing the potential impact Taiwan's rapidly growing technology-based economy can have on the local environment, the national government has undertaken aggressive measures to apply the principles of sustainable development to the country's industrial expansion," Chen said.
"Our established local track record and professional reputation among commercial and governmental clients position Weston International as an active partner in helping Taiwan address its long-term environmental challenges."
During the exposition, company representatives will address a variety of pressing environmental issues confronting the island nation, including air quality, solid waste management, hazardous waste incineration and groundwater remediation.
Chen said Weston International's participation in Taiwan's premier environmental exposition continues the company's international momentum, taking its 35 years of domestic U.S. environmental design, engineering and management services into the world market. Recently, the company formed joint ventures in Italy and Ireland to expand its operations in Europe.
Weston is an international environmental engineering, design and consulting firm specializing in analytical services, remediation, facility construction and operations, technical information management and major program services for government and industry.
