WESTINGHOUSE AWARDED $88 MILLION FOR POWER GENERATION EQUIPMENT IN SPAIN

 ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Westinghouse Electric Corporation (NYSE: WX) today announced an award worth over $88 million for the supply and installation of power generation equipment from the Asociacion Nuclear ASCO of Barcelona, Spain.
 Westinghouse will provide equipment to modernize Units I and II of the ASCO nuclear power station. The equipment includes turbine rotors and stationary equipment for the high and low pressure steam turbines, modernization packages for the electrical generators and turbine generator control systems. Westinghouse will subcontract a portion of the work to ENWESA Servicios, S.A., and Empresa Nacional Bazan de Construcciones Navales Militares, S.A. ENWESA will provide complete turnkey installation for the entire project and Bazan will co-manufacture turbine equipment.
 "The competition for this order was particularly intense," said Frank Bakos, vice president and general manager of the Westinghouse Power Generation business unit. "I believe ASCO recognized the value we bring to the project and our absolute commitment to their success," he said.
 Westinghouse will also provide project management and installation services for the modernization program. The equipment will be installed in a phased program which will begin in 1994 and end in mid-1997. Modernization work on ASCO II will be completed in mid-1996, with ASCO I completed one year later.
