 WESTERN WASTE AWARDED EXCLUSIVE MULTI-YEAR CARSON CONTRACT
 LOS ANGELES, Calif. Nov. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Western Waste Industries (NYSE: WW) today announced that it has signed an exclusive contract with the City of Carson, Calif. to provide all waste management services in the city for up to 11 years.
 In addition to being the exclusive provider of the residential collection and recycling services, Western Waste will provide commercial and industrial collection. These business services are currently provided by a variety of haulers. The contract will begin in November, 1991. The company's residential collection term was also extended for up to 11 years.
 The commercial and industrial portion of the contract will be phased in over exclusivity occurs over the next 4 years, due to notification requirements under state law. In the interim, all new businesses are required to use Western Waste's services. Additionally, businesses changing collection companies must use Western Waste. Upon attaining all commercial and industrial business, the incremental revenue is estimated at $4,000,000 per annum.
 With the award of this contract and after its phase in, Western Waste becomes the exclusive provider of integrated waste management services in the city, encompassing residential, commercial and industrial sectors.
