WESTERN UNION PROVIDES NO-FEE MONEY TRANSFERS TO AREAS
IN SOUTHERN FLORIDA AND LOUISIANA RAVAGED BY HURRICANE ANDREW
UPPER SADDLE RIVER, N.J., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Western Union Financial Services, Inc., today announced it will waive the fees for its Money Transfer service to areas of southern Florida and Louisiana ravaged by Hurricane Andrew now through Sept. 13.
With more than 17,000 agent locations across the United States, Western Union is the leader in Money Transfer services.
"Western Union will absorb the cost of Money Transfers to the areas impacted by Hurricane Andrew since the ability to receive cash quickly and reliably from families and friends elsewhere around the country is crucial to individuals who are now beginning to rebuild from the hurricane's devastation," said Elaine Bolle, vice president-Consumer Money Transfer of Western Union Financial Services. "We feel it is important to enable consumers to send money to victims of the hurricane in Florida and Louisiana at no cost using Western Union during this trying period.
"Nearly all of the 200 Western Union agent locations in the areas hit by the hurricane remained in operation, offering consumers the ability to instantly receive -- or send -- cash using Western Union Money Transfers," said Bolle.
