WELTON C. MANSFIELD RESIGNS VP POSITION AT VOLKSWAGEN UNITED STATES
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Volkswagen of America, Inc. (VWoA) today announced the resignation of Welton C. Mansfield from the position of vice president of Volkswagen United States, Inc. (VW/U.S.).
Mansfield has been unable to travel via aircraft since the second week of December 1991 due to an inner ear problem. Because of the enormous travel demands, Mansfield did not feel it practical to continue in his position, which he held since September 1991.
William J. Young, VWoA president and chief executive officer, will oversee the daily operations of VW/U.S.
Young was appointed VWoA president and CEO in 1991 following a tenure as vice president of VW/U.S. He also has served in other sales and management positions in the company.
