WEIRTON STEEL NAMED CAMPBELL SOUP COMPANY 'SELECT SUPPLIER' WEIRTON, W.Va., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Campbell Soup Company (NYSE: CPB) today bestowed an important honor on Weirton Steel Corporation (NYSE: WS), it was announced. The giant Camden, N.J.-based manufacturer of branded food products named Weirton Steel as a "select supplier" for consistently furnishing quality materials and service on time. Only 3 percent of Campbell's more than 4,000 vendors worldwide have earned select supplier status. In ceremonies at Weirton Steel's general office, Campbell's Fred George, vice president-manufacturing, East Region, presented an engraved wooden plaque and Campbell's select supplier flag to Herbert Elish, Weirton's chairman and president. Weirton Steel is the first major domestic steel company that supplies all of Campbell Soup plants nationally to receive the prestigious award.
