WEEKEND: TV: HOT GOSSIP . . . what's happening in the world of showbiz.

CHANNEL 4's hit series Wife Swap is back for another series - and they're looking for families who want to take part.

So, if you're a lively couple with kids and like the idea of a 10-day challenge living someone else's life, call Antonia now on 020 7013 4232 and find out more.

SEX And The City's Kim Cattrall has bought the rights to the 1950 play The Country Girl and will produce and star in a new, made-for-TV version of it.

The actress, who recently landed her fourth Emmy nomination for her role as the bed-hopping Samantha Jones in the Channel 4 hit series, will play the title role, made famous on the big screen by Grace Kelly back in 1954.

GEORDIE rock star Sting is putting the finishing touches to an autobiography which, he says, has nothing to do with his life as a rock star.

"It's not a celebrity book," he told Parade magazine. "It only takes me up to the age of 25, when I was on the verge of making it.

"It's really the story of my parents more than anything."

TINA TURNER is reportedly coming out of semi-retirement to sing and dance - on the back of a tiger in a Merchant Ivory film.

Producer Ismail Merchant says the film is called The Goddess and he will direct it next spring in India. Turner will play the Goddess Kali.

MADONNA'S children's book The English Roses - the first of six books promised by the singer-actress - will be released with all the hoop-la and publicity that normally surrounds the Harry Potter books.

It will be published simultaneously in 100 countries and in 42 languages, according to publishing sources.

The plot is still a tightly guarded secret.
