Thursday FEEL the noise in the Town Hall as leading Taiko drum group Mugenkyo interweave thundering rhythms with layers of percussive soundscapes and delicate bamboo flute in a spellbinding display of precise choreography and sheer athleticism.

Friday SEAN Lock spouts some "inspired jibber jabber", as purple van man, a more colourful, deftly observant and comedic version of the self-opinionated road-hogging stereotype that is white van man. Prepare to "laugh like a drunken horse" at Birmingham Hippodrome tonight and tomorrow.

Saturday LOCAL indie heroes The Twang take it in turns to headline with Liverpool Britpop survivors Cast in a companionable tour of 02 venues. It arrives at the Academy in Birmingham tonight.

Sunday THEY thought their glory days were behind them but six acts - Atomic Kitten, B*Witched, 5ive (pictured), Libety X, 911 and Honeyz - got the band(s) back together for TV show The Big Reunion. The reults can be seen and heard at the LG Arena.

Monday EVER since Lana Del Ray reinvented herself as the queen of the melancholy melody with her hit song Video Games and Born To Die album, her rise has been unstoppable.

She finishes a two night residency at the 02 Acdemy tonight.

Tuesday WELL did you evah? There is a swellegant gathering at the Hippodrome as the great and the good of High Society gather for Tracy Lord's lavish summer wedding. But who will she say "I do" to? On until Saturday.

Wednesday MARATHON man Eddie Izzard takes time to stand still (ish) for some stand up, exercising his agile mind in Force Majeure (which means superior force or chance occurrence in French). Tonight is the first of two at the NIA.
