WEE THREE RECORDS SELECTS THE WEIGHTMAN GROUP

 PHILADELPHIA, May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Wee Three Records, the fastest growing recorded music store chain in the United States, has selected The Weightman Group to handle its advertising.
 According to John Goodchild, Weightman's president and CEO, the agency is creating a breakthrough campaign aimed at younger music lovers designed to build the brand with multimedia advertising, in-store promotions and incentive merchandising.
 Wee Three Records is this country's recorded music division of the W.H. Smith Group, the United Kingdom's largest retailer of recorded music. W.H. Smith, a major British retail and distribution conglomerate with a concentration in books and music, has acquired stores in 10 states in the Northeast and MidAtlantic regions of the United States. Currently, the stores operate under a variety of names -- Wee Three Records, Wall to Wall Sound and Video, Listening Booth, Mothers Records, Square Circle, Record World and National Record Mart. All of them are in shopping malls or in strip store locations.
 "Wee Three is the seventh largest recorded music chain in the country," said Norah Morley, Wee Three's vice president of marketing, "but we're not going to stop there. We're convinced that with Weightman's help, our fresh merchandising ideas will take us even higher. We're out to show our customers that we understand and care about music as much as they do."
 Morley calls the selection of The Weightman Group a key ingredient in the company's strategy for success and expansion. "We were very impressed by the comprehensive creative work they showed us," Morley said, "including ideas for TV, posters, an in-store magazine, brochures, print ads and radio. Weightman showed us they were truly excited about our stores, and their work excited us."
