( 1971) FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS ( Sky Movies Action/ Thriller, 10.25am) The stories of three of the men pictured in the iconic photograph of a group of US servicemen raising their flag above the island of Iwo Jima. After returning home, the veterans grapple with a sense of survivor's guilt as they struggle to adjust to everyday life. Clint Eastwood's World War Two drama, starring Ryan Phillippe, Jesse Bradford, Adam Beach and Paul Walker. ( 2006) THE RAID ( Channel 4, 1.50pm) The leader of a band of escaped confederate prisoners plans an attack on a small town on the Canadian border, posing as a businessman to get the lie of the land. But he strikes up a relationship with a local widow and her son, leading him to undergo a crisis of conscience. Drama set during the American Civil War, starring Van Heflin, Anne Bancroft and Lee Marvin. ( 1954) RUMBLE FISH ( Sky Movies Drama, 2.45pm) An alienated teenager gets drawn into a series of gang fights as he desperately tries to emulate his missing elder brother. Francis Ford Coppola's drama, based on the novel by SE Hinton, starring Matt Dillon, Mickey Rourke, Dennis Hopper, Nicolas Cage, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne and Chris Penn. ( 1983) DANIELLE STEEL'S REMEMBRANCE ( five, 3.10pm) A woman struggles to confront the facts behind her mother's murder, including a doomed love affair cut short by the horrors of the Korean War, and a passionate relationship with a high- flying photographer. Drama, starring Angie Dickinson, Eva LaRue and Jeffrey Nordling. ( 1996) THE BONE COLLECTOR ( Sky Movies Action/ Thriller, 8pm) A quadriplegic former cop is saved from suicide by a rookie female officer needing his expertise to form a psychological profile of a serial killer. The murderer's trade- mark habit is taking a trophy from his victims' bodies. Thriller, starring Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Mike McGlone, Luis Guzman and Queen Latifah. ( 1999) MAD MAX ( five, 10pm) In the near future, Australian cop Max Rockatansky tires of battling to impose law and order on the roads and turns in his badge - only to be forced out of retirement when his wife and child are murdered at the hands of a motorcycle gang. George Miller's action adventure, starring Mel Gibson, Joanne Samuel and Hugh Keays- Byrne. ( 1979) INSOMNIA (BBC1 Wales, 11.15pm) A troubled detective is sent to Alaska to investigate a teenager's murder during a month when the sun does not set. Sleep deprivation takes its toll, and he accidentally kills his partner and covers up the crime.

However, his fateful decision is witnessed by the criminal he is hunting. Thriller from The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan, remade from a Norwegian film. Starring Al Pacino, Robin Williams and Hilary Swank. ( 2002) THE ILLUSIONIST (Sky Movies Drama, 10pm) In early 20th century Vienna, a young man named Eisenheim is besotted with a girl above his social standing. Following a meeting with a travelling magician, Eisenheim becomes obsessed with conjury and decides to leave the country to explore the world and perfect his art.

However, he returns years later as a talented illusionist, determined to use his skills to save the love of his life from a marriage to a ruthless prince. Mystery thriller, starring Edward Norton, Paul Giamatti and Jessica Biel. Based loosely on Steven Millhauser's short story. (2006)
