BAD EDUCATION (10pm BBC 3) HARRY Enfield, pictured, returns for series three, but this time he's not just playing Alfie's dad, he's also the school's new deputy head brought into make budget cuts. His very first job will be to make the worst teacher redundant. No prizes for guessing who's for the chop, but Miss Gulliver quickly rallies the troops out on strike to protect Alfie's job.

Unlike BBC 1's Big School, Bad Education isn't just about the teachers. Alfie Wicker's students are a bright bunch who can more than hold their own against Jack Whitehall and Sarah Solemani. One of them, Mitchell, could even be the real love child of Big School's oafish PE teacher Trevor Gunn. As childish and chaotic as an over-eager puppy chewing your furniture, there's something endearing about Bad Education that makes it hard to dislike. Other treats include headteacher Fraser (Mathew Horne) displaying his new invention and inserting the word "banter" into everything.
