THE NATION'S FAVOURITE QUEEN SONG (9pm ITV) REMEMBERING his first glimpse | of Freddie Mercury on Top Of The T Pops, Bond films composer David Arnold recalls: "You looked at this person and thought, 'What the hell's that?'" This 90 minute special is a nostalgic celebration of one of the most flamboyant, exuberant and talented rock bands in history... fronted by its even more flamboyant one-of-a-kind lead singer.

The show itself follows a much more traditional format; a top 20 of hits 'as voted for by a representative panel of ITV viewers', counted down by Matt Lucas and interspersed by talking heads.

Guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor are both T interviewed, while Mercury appears in archive footage.

The range of contributors is testament to the band's wide and enduring appeal, from Katy Perry to Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi. The pace only slows momentarily - and poignantly - to take in Mercury's declining health near the end of his life.
