BRAD Guzan is ready to show close pal Clint Dempsey that he was wrong to snub Villa in the summer when they take on his Tottenham side today. Villa had a PS7 million bid for the American striker accepted by former club Fulham but he opted for a late move to White Hart Lane instead. The pair have already discussed

Dempsey's transfer saga - and this afternoon's North London clash - when they met up on United States duty last month. Guzan is eager to get a positive result today to reiterate his claim that Paul Lambert's Villa are a team on the up. And when asked if he was keen to show Dempsey that he decided on the wrong move

That's the plan, that's for sure," he said. "I saw him during the last international break a few weeks ago and we had a quick chat about it. He's had an exciting summer and we had a little bit of a laugh about it so it was good." Guzan likes the way that Villa are shaping up this season but knows that his countryman Dempsey can give any team trouble on his day. Last weekend he was the hero when his goal proved to be the winning strike in a 3-2 vistory at Old Trafford and the Villa stopper knows his side must watch him closely. "It will be exciting to see him today because he's a good guy," he added. "He definitely brings goals to the team, at the same time he's a scrapper and a fighter and he's going to go on and give you a hard time . "His commitment on the field is second to none. "He puts in a shift every time he steps out onto the field. He's going to be one of many that we'll have to keep an eye on to get three points. "Any team he steps out for he's going to help them. "He's going to fight and battle, but at the same time he's a good footballer - he's got some tricks in the bag that's for sure. "When he comes out to it he always seems to find himself in the right position to score goals or set up other players to score goals and create opportunities. "He's the best of all so we'l
