WE'LL GIVE YOU A JOB CHRIS SAYS SCOTS BOSS; (And you'll get Fridays off).
Award-winning Moray Firth Radio crossed swords with the ginger jockeylast summer when he launched an unprovoked attack on their popular local presenter Tich McCooey.
Evans made a brief flit to the Highland capital to escape the pollution of London and during one of his Breakfast Show broadcasts to his 7.5 million audience, Evans mercilessly teased Tich, who was beaming his own morning show to a modest 70,000 listeners.
But yesterday, as news broke of millionaire Evans' departure from Radio1, MFR boss Thomas Prag set out to prove they bore no grudges.
Prag, who intends faxing Evans with a job offer over the next couple of days, said: "We could even manage to give him Fridays off, if he wished," he added.
Thomas insisted his offer was not a wind-up or revenge and said: "Although it may sound a bit tongue-in-cheek, we are quite serious about it.
"But he'd have knock a few noughts off his salary!"
Mr Prag admitted MFR's star DJ, Tich had been "quite hurt" about Evans' on-air attack last summer.
It followed a snubbed "peace-making" approach by Tich to Evans.
But Evans fought back and claimed that Jamie - who answers Evans' phones - earns almost double Tich's salary.
Thomas said: "Tich steadfastly refused to get involved in any slagging match and kept his dignity throughout. He wasn't going to rise or respond to it.
He added that Tich was reluctant to comment about the Evans job offer but said he had "absolutely no problem" with it.
