WDM Market Continues to Expand Driven by Developments in Technology and New Applications.

DUBLIN, Ireland -- Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/c42260) has announced the addition of Optical Networks/WDM Newsletter to their offering.

The WDM market is exploding! Forecasts are continuously being updated because of changes in the technology and applications. At first, WDM was used in long distance but now it is being considered for MANs and WANs, as well as computer centers. WDM together with optical amplifiers and all optical networks will take WDM to another level. Keeping up with these rapid changes is becoming ever more difficult. The WDM Newsletter provides worldwide coverage of technology, markets and applications. If you are involved in the WDM market, product development or applications, then the WDM Newsletter is necessary reading on a regular basis.

Sample Paragraph from a Past Issue of the WDM Newsletter:

Lucent Expands China Presence

Lucent has announced an optical expansion contract worth several million U.S. dollars with Beijing Communication Corp. (BCC), a subsidiary of China Netcom. Under the terms of the contract, Lucent will supply its next-generation optical products, including the LambdaUnite Multi Service Switch (MSS) and the Metropolis ADM MultiService Mux, to assist BCC in building a highly scalable optical transport network that meets both its current and future bandwidth and service growth needs. The expansion project, to be cutover by the year-end, marks the first win for LambdaUnite MSS in BCC. Lucent's next-generation multiservice switches and metro multiservice multiplexers will complement the existing Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) network and help BCC expand its network capacity and reduce operating costs while delivering new revenue-generation services such as gigabit and 10 gigabit Ethernet.
