 INTERNATIONAL THEATRICAL DISTRIBUTION DIVISION
BURBANK, Calif., March 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Wayne Duband has been appointed president of Warner Bros.' International Theatrical Distribution Division, it was announced today by Terry Semel, president and chief operating officer of Warner Bros. Inc.
Duband, who assumes the post effective immediately, most recently served as senior vice president of Warner Bros. International Theatrical Distribution Division. In his new position, he will be responsible for all aspects of Warner's international theatrical distribution company.
Stated Semel, "Wayne has been our senior executive under the president since 1985 and helped run the most successful and exciting International Theatrical Distribution company in the world. He is uniquely qualified to lead our theatrical company and seek all opportunities internationally for us in the '90s. We look forward to Wayne's contributions in his new position and congratulate him on his appointment."
Duband joined Warner Bros. in Australia in 1969. In 1973, he was transferred to South Africa as managing director of that territory and in 1977, he became managing director of CIC/Warner Bros.' joint venture, as well as managing director of CIC's South African theater operations.
In 1980, Duband moved to Burbank to serve as executive assistant to the president of Warner's International Theatrical Distribution Division. A year later, he was appointed managing director of the Warner/Columbia joint distribution company in France, a post he held until January 1985, when he returned to Warner's home office to head theatrical sales for Warner Bros. International. He was named senior vice president of that division in 1987.
