 WAVEMAT INC. APPOINTS NEW CHAIRMAN TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS
 PLYMOUTH, Mich., Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Wavemat Inc. announced today that the board of directors has appointed Dr. Raymond F. Decker chairman of Wavemat Inc. Dr. Decker has been a director of the company since May 1986 and has been vice president, new technology of the company since January 1990. He also previously served as president and chief executive officer of the company from May 1986 through December 1988 and vice president of research and development during 1989. Since October 1988, he has been president, chief executive officer and director of University Science Partners, Inc., a development stage materials technology company, and chairman and president of Thixomat, Inc., a development stage company engaged in the sale and manufacture of injection molding equipment.
 Monis Schuster has been appointed acting president and chief executive officer of Wavemat Inc. Schuster is a founder of the company and has been a director of the company since May 1985. Schuster has been vice president of corporate development and general counsel of the company since October 1988 and secretary since May 1989. Schuster previously served as chairman of Wavemat from October 1985 through May 1986.
 The company also announced that Richard S. Garard, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Wavemat, has resigned his position in order to devote more time to other business activities. Garard served as chairman of Wavemat since October 1988. He will continue to serve on the company's board.

During this economic downturn, we have taken this opportunity to improve products and invest in a promotional campaign to position ourselves as the system of choice when the market rebounds," said Decker.
 Wavemat designs, manufactures and markets proprietary microwave equipment for processing of advanced materials. Products range from standard modules for process research and development, to products for production integration and turnkey development systems incorporating Wavemat's patented technology.
