WASHINGTON STATE LOTTERY EXTENDS AWI ON-LINE CONTRACT UNTIL 1996

 BOZEMAN, Mont., July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The Washington State Lottery today extended the contract of Automated Wagering International, Inc. (AWI) to operate its on-line lottery systems through 1996. AWI, a wholly owned subsidiary of Video Lottery Technologies, Inc., (NASDAQ-NMS: VLTS) has operated the Washington Lottery since 1984.
 Under contract, AWI will provide 2,120 instant validation lottery terminals. This system will enable players to validate winning instant tickets at any retail lottery outlet and will provide the State with an automated accounting system. AWI has installed similar systems in Pennsylvania and Florida. "We are pleased to continue our relationship with the Washington State Lottery," said James Davey, AWI chief executive officer. "We are proud of the innovations we have been able to bring to the Washington State Lottery and we are looking forward to developing new systems technology which will permit greater flexibility and increase revenues."
 In addition to Washington, AWI operates on-line lotteries in the following jurisdictions: Pennsylvania, Florida, Minnesota, Delaware, Montana and South Dakota, and provides the on-line system for the Kingdom of Norway (Norsk Tipping).
