BOISE, Idaho, March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- A curator from the Seattle Art Museum has been chosen to select artists for a nationally recognized traveling art show that will tour the Pacific Northwest in the spring and summer of 1992, West One Bancorp said today.
Vicki Halper, assistant curator of modern art at the Seattle Art Museum, as well as Tommy Griffin, curator of exhibitions at the University of Oregon Museum of Art, John Weber, associate curator of contemporary art at the Portland Art Museum, and Dennis O'Leary, Boise Art Museum's executive director, were appointed by West One Bancorp to be part of an expert panel that is selecting artists for its third annual "Spirit of the West" -- A Celebration of the Arts art exhibit.
"Spirit of the West" is a true celebration of Pacific Northwest artists and their talent for capturing the spirit of the West in their work," said Dan Nelson, chairman and chief executive officer of West One Bancorp. "We are very proud of our commitment to the arts and are pleased to have such experienced people involved with choosing the art for this year's show."
"Spirit of the West," a self-contained, mobile art museum and performance stage, will be shown at festivals and events throughout Washington, Idaho and Oregon.
Last year more than 50 artists were selected. Their work represented a wide variety of media: ceramics, drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, painting, paper, photography, printmaking, sculpture and wood.
