WASHINGTON FOREST PROTECTION ASSOCIATION ISSUES STATEMENT
OLYMPIA, Wash., June 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The following was released today by the Washington Forest Protection Association:
"The members of the State Forest Practices Board, with their diverse views, have worked, agonized, fought, compromised and now acted to adopt a sweeping set of new forestry rules," said Bill Jacobs, executive director of the Washington Forest Protection Association.
"Private forest landowners aren't happy about some of the rules. They'll be costly, disruptive and in some cases offer little real benefit to the environment," Jacobs added. "Only time will tell if the rules go too far or not far enough. For now, we must be patient and give these rules and the process which created them an opportunity to work. Private forest landowners are committed to that end."
