WARREN CONSOLIDATED INDUSTRIES, INC. CHANGES NAME TO WCI STEEL, INC. WARREN, Ohio, Dec. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Warren Consolidated Industries, Inc., an integrated flat rolled steel producer, has changed its named to WCI Steel, Inc. to better reflect its principal business. "The name change coincides with the completion stages of a $130 million continuous caster complex," said James V. Stack, WCI president and chief executive officer. "This capital investment will enhance product quality and our ability to meet the growing needs of our customers. "The WCI Steel name more effectively communicates our product and technology leadership positions in the flat rolled steel business," added Stack. Another merger changed its name to LTV Steel Co. when it combined with J&L Steel Corp. in 1984. The company became Warren Consolidated Industries, Inc., a stand-alone privately held company in 1988.
