 WARRANTECH SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH INACOM
STAMFORD, Conn., June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Warrantech Corporation

(NASDAQ: WTEC) today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Warrantech Consumer Product Services, has entered into a long-term agreement with InaCom Corp. (NASDAQ: INAC) to market service contracts to buyers of computer equipment sold through InaCom's nationwide network of ValCom and InaComp Computer Centers.
The InaCom centers market personal computer equipment and related products from major suppliers, including IBM, COMPAQ, Apple, NEC, Toshiba, Epson, Okidata, Lexmark, Novell, Banyan, Oracle, Hewlett- Packard, SCO, Network General and others. The company's network consists of 832 business centers located in 50 states.
InaCom Corp., Omaha, Neb., was formed in 1991 through the merger of ValCom, Inc. and Inacomp Computer Centers, Inc. It is expected to approach $1 billion in sales in 1992.
The service contracts provide parts and labor coverage for a one- year or two-year extension of the original manufacturer's warranty on computer monitors, central processing units, keyboards, laser printers and other peripheral equipment.
According to Robert Schultz, president and general manager of InaCom Advanced Systems and Services Group, "We selected Warrantech Consumer Product Services (WCPS) to assist in the administration of InaCom's service contract program for a number of very good reasons; among them, Warrantech Corporation, the parent of WCPS, is a public corporation with excellent administrative facilities. Additionally, the strength of Warrantech is enhanced by the program's underwriter; Houston General Insurance Company, the $200 million-asset wholly owned subsidiary of Tokio Marine & Fire, the oldest and largest property and casualty insurer in Japan. We look forward to working with WCPS and making this important customer service an integral part of our overall marketing effort."
Warrantech Corporation, through its subsidiaries Warrantech Consumer Product Services and Warrantech Automotive, administers service contract programs for consumer electronic products, appliances, computer and home office equipment, automobiles, recreational vehicles, and automotive tires and mechanical components.
